1. I’m not sure which orthotic is right for me. How do I choose the right one?
If you are not sure which type of orthotic is best for you, email us at support@usaorthotics.com. A representative of USA Orthotics will contact you within 24 hours to answer your questions and help you make your selection. It is important for each customer to complete the Customer Questionnaire so that we can customize your orthotics for a precise fit, which will provide maximum benefit for any activity in which you engage.
  2. Do I need to buy more than one pair of orthotics for different types of shoes?
In some cases, you might need more than one pair of orthotics. For example, an athletic orthotic will not work well in a dress shoe and vice versa.  Many of our customers find it convenient to have an extra pair of orthotics to keep in different shoes. Contact us, and we can help you decide if more than one pair of orthotics is necessary.
  3. Do I need a different orthotic for each sport that I participate in?
Contrary to much information on the internet, most sports do not require a sport-specific orthotic. The type of orthotic that will benefit you most depends on if you participate in high-impact sports or low-impact sports. The TruUSA and TruSport orthotics for high-impact sports, such as running, tennis, or basketball, are made from dynamic materials that can withstand the impact of these sports. Some athletes, such as cyclists and snowskiiers, benefit from the carbon composite TruTech orthotic that does not require as much flexibility as high-impact orthotics. We will also determine how each custom orthotic is trimmed based on the sport for which they will be used, so that the orthotic will fit comfortably in your running shoe, cycling shoe, or ski boot. Be sure to specify your sport(s) of choice on our Customer Questionnaire. To discuss custom orthotics specific to your sport in more detail, please contact us at support@usaorthotics.com
  4. Are your orthotics similar to those that I could get from a doctor or podiatrist?
Yes, we make orthotics for doctors and podiatrists in addition to our online store. You would pay much more for these same orthotics from your doctor or podiatrist.
  5. How long will it take to get my orthotics?
You should receive your foam impression kit within 5 business days from the date you place your order. Once we receive your impression kit, you should receive your orthotics within 10 business days.
  6. How do I know that I have taken my foot impression correctly?
Before starting, be sure to thoroughly read our instructions on how to correctly take your foot impression. If you have additional questions, please contact us before taking your foot impression. We will let you know if your impression is not taken correctly. For the best possible fit, we also recommend that you scan the insole of your shoe and email it to us at support@usaorthotics.com. Be sure to include your name, address, and order number in the email.
  7. What happens if my orthotics do not fit correctly in my shoes?
We fabricate our orthotics based on the type of shoe you will be wearing and your shoe size. To achieve an exact fit, we recommend that you remove the insole of your shoe and trace it onto your orthotics. You can then use scissors to trim your orthotic for an exact fit to your shoe.
  8. Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance at this time because most orthotics are not covered by insurance.
  9. Do I need a prescription from my doctor?
We do not require a prescription from your doctor; however, we are happy to discuss your needs with your doctor in order to make the best orthotics for you.  If you have a doctor’s prescription, we may be able to use the information to provide the best possible orthotics for you.
  10. What is your shipping Policy?
We ship anywhere in the United States and Canada. Shipping and delivery costs are included in the price of the orthotic, so there is no additional charge.
  11. How can I cancel my order?
We accept order cancellations within 24 hours of placing your order. You must contact us by email or phone to cancel your order.
  12. I love my orthotics! Can I get another pair made?
We would be happy to fabricate additional pairs of orthotics for you. Check our website frequently for specials on multiple pairs of orthotics.
  13. What if my orthotics need an adjustment?
USA Orthotics recommends a two-week “break-in” period for your feet to become accustomed to your new orthotics. However, if you still feel that the orthotics need an adjustment, please contact us immediately.
  14. Are orthotic inserts considered Health Savings Account (HSA) eligible expenses?
Yes, according to the IRS Code Section 213 (d) orthotic inserts are FSA HSA eligible expenses. Simply enter your HSA debit card number at checkout.
